    Shipping question

I found some speaks I want to buy.
    Seller doesn't offer shipping......

Where is a good place to look to have them picked up?

Search function on this board couldn't find shipping, shipper, or even ship.

I know I've seen suggestions here, just couldn't find them!

uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Vehicles or Moves

When i can't get something to pan out with Uship, i usually just use NorthAmerican if it's not within reach of one of my east coast truckers.

    Re: Shipping question

you can initiate a pick up for youself with UPS. Called a "call tag," (used to be anyway.)

What you do is have the seller box it if he will according to your request. You call UPS with details such as size and weight, insurance etc. They will give you a price, and if you like it, they will go to the address specified, and pick up the parcel and deliver it to you.

    Re: Shipping question

The other issue is that the seller doesn't have a good way to pack them either.

These are the ones I'm looking at.

    Re: Shipping question

I used Freightquote.com once but you will have to go to a shipping dock near you they charge alot for door to door service. They maybe able to help you. If your package or packages are more than 150 Lbs., If less than 150 Lbs. Fedex,Ups,USPS, etc... would be a better option."Cheaper" too.But he isn't packing for you so you may need a "Blanket Wrap" shipper.Going from Florida to Portland Or.will be quite pricey though......

    Re: Shipping question

I'm discovering that these are too small for the larger shippers.
Do UPS and FedX ect offer packaging?

Yes I think so, but they may have to be dropped off at one of their locations.

Ron, here are a few contacts, all of which have brought stuff here for me from all over the lower 48. I can't promise any of these are "the ticket", but give them a try.

    Chuck Cottingham 503-704-8021

    Specialty Transport 800-443-0940

    Re: Shipping question

How many are you getting, Ron? 2 or more?

Freightquote.com usually gives me the best price for stuff on a pallet. A little lower than the quotes from others including Uship. But for me it's loading dock to loading dock. If the seller is willing to strap them to a pallet, that will probably be the cheapest.

It's not going to be cheap getting them from Jacksonville to Bridgetown. Kinda opposite corners of the country! I've been shaking the bushes for someone I know in or near Jacksonville to help, but so far no luck.
